Refund policy
ATHARVA, we offer refunds only for products that are unavailable. As our products are all handcrafted by artisans in rural India, we want to ensure fairness to the artisans. For all other products, we provide exchanges instead of refunds.
Exchange Policy:
ATHARVA sources its products from top-notch artisans, designers, and brands, subjecting them to strict quality checks before shipping them to you. While it's unlikely you would need to exchange a purchased product, we do allow exchanges under certain conditions:
Can I request an exchange for all the products I buy from ATHARVA?
1)Not all products available at ATHARVA qualify for exchanges. Items marked as "SALE ITEMS" (where a discount is already applied) are excluded from the exchange policy to ensure fairness to the Artisan who crafted the product.
2)In addition, the following products are not eligible for exchange
- a) Sarees that have undergone customization through ATHARVA for "Fall & Pico" Services are NOT ELIGIBLE FOR EXCHANGE.
- b) Sarees for which you have personally detached the blouse, made tassels, or stitched the fall YOURSELF are not eligible for exchange.
- c) You are permitted only one exchange per order, meaning the product you purchased after availing of the first exchange cannot be exchanged again.
3) To initiate the exchange process, customers must notify us via email at info@houseofsarees.in within 24 hours of receiving the product. Please note that exchange requests sent through phone calls, SMS, or WhatsApp will not be officially registered as exchange requests.
4) Despite our diligent efforts to match the colour of the physical product you receive with the digital image on a computer screen, there may still be some variations between the two. As a result, we regret to inform you that we will NOT BE ABLE TO OFFER EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS DUE TO COLOR VARIATION.
5) To qualify for an exchange, the product must be returned in an unworn, unused, unwashed, and resaleable condition, accompanied by all the original packaging, with the labels intact.
6) Customers are limited to making only one exchange request for each purchased product. This means that a customer cannot request an exchange for a product received as a replacement for an originally purchased item. What is the Exchange Process?
1)Kindly register your exchange request with ATHARVA by sending an email to info@houseofsarees.in within 24 hours of receiving the product. Please include the following details in the email:
- Order Number & Customer Name
- Product code of the item you wish to exchange.
2) If your exchange request is approved, the Customer Service Team will send you an email authorizing the return of the product. Once you receive this email, kindly follow the process below to dispatch the product (within 7 days from the date of receipt):
- Ensure Clear Marking: Please prominently write "SALES RETURN" on the exterior of the product to prevent any unnecessary customs duty on the returned item.
- Responsibility for Return Duties: Any return duties imposed by authorities on account of the returned products will be the responsibility of the customer.
- Notify Us: After shipping the product, please send us an email containing the courier details and tracking number for reference.

- Please adhere to these instructions to ensure a smooth exchange process.
3) Once the product is received at our facility, our Quality Assurance (QA) Department will conduct a thorough inspection to determine if the item is in an "exchangeable condition." Products that exhibit any signs of use, alteration, or damage will not be eligible for exchange.
4) If the returned product is approved for exchange by the QA Department, you will receive a credit note for the full purchase price of the product (the shipping amount paid, if any, will be deducted).
5) However, if an exchange request is not approved by the QA Department due to the product not meeting the terms of our exchange policy, the item will be returned to the customer. In such cases, the customer will be responsible for the return shipping cost of Rs. 200 (for domestic customers) and the actual shipping cost for international customers based on their country of shipping.
In case I change my mind, how do I Cancel the Order? (Before the Product is shipped by ATHARVA)
1) You can request a cancellation of your order within 12 hours of placing it, provided that Fall Stitching or Blouse Stitching has not been ordered.
2) Cancellation is allowed only for Sarees & Unstitched Apparel that has not been combined with a stitching order.
3) However, there are specific cases where cancellation is NOT POSSIBLE, even if the request is made within 12 hours:
- Saree orders with Fall Stitching or Blouse Stitching are not eligible for cancellation.
- Special Request Orders requiring shipment earlier than 48 hours cannot be cancelled.
4) If you cancel an order within 12 hours and your money has been credited to our account, you have the option to either select another product or convert the value into store credit.
